The All-Purpose Chef's Knife lives up to its name—a reimagined chef's knife designed for broader versatility and ease of use by everyone. This knife features a heptagonal, tapered white oak handle, a +10° off-angle walnut bolster, a walnut finger support block, and an in-cut Bunka-style blade. The AP Chef's Knife enhances the cooking experience by making it more efficient and gentler on the cook.
The inspiration for this knife started with redesigning the handle to reduce fatigue during use. The handle is influenced by traditional Japanese (wa) kitchen knives, but with a heptagonal shape for enhanced grip, especially for the fingers wrapping around the blade. The blade design draws from two Japanese knives: the Bunka (a multi-purpose knife) and the Sobakiri (a noodle knife). The AP Chef's Knife combines the versatile Bunka blade shape with the Sobakiri's in-cut design, offering better leverage and reducing the amount of force needed during use.
