The Museum of Minimal invites visitors to immerse themselves in the essence of minimalism through the unique perspectives of various artists and designers. It not only serves as a platform for appreciation but also as a forum for critical examination and exploration of the minimalist philosophy. The museum achieves this by curating a diverse collection of artistic expressions and creative mediums, challenging conventional norms, and pushing the boundaries of minimalism.

Brief:
Develop a visual identity for a museum, showcasing various artistic expressions and creative mediums through the lens of minimalist philosophy.

Challenge:
Create a visual identity that feels unique and dynamic with clear purpose.

Solution:
Derived from a common idea found between the various minimalist interpretations, intentionality — keeping only what adds value and eliminating the rest.
  • The Dotted Grid is representative of intentionality, it offers a singular effective solution to inform all other visual elements (Logo, Type, Layout, Imagery, Illustrations, Pattern)
Minimalist Interpretations —> Common Theme —> Intentionality: keeping only what adds value and eliminating the rest.

Ideas are first formulated in thought, then transferred to paper or into some written form.

The dotted grid serves as the foundational tool informing the Museum’s entire visual identity; also functioning as the identity system’s pattern.
